Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) is pleased to welcome Katherine M. Kelleher, MSN, RN, FNP-C, Samuel Smith, Jr, PA; and Amy Wheaton, PA, to the SVMC Orthopedics team and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians. Kelleher received her Master of Science in Nursing from Boston College in Massachusetts and a bachelor’s from McGill University in Montreal. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Kelleher has worked for the past year as a registered nurse in an Emergency Department, before which she worked as an emergency medical technician.
Smith holds a bachelor’s in history from Bates College in Maine. He earned a master’s in exercise physiology from the University of New Hampshire and a physician assistant certificate from Northeastern University in Massachusetts. Over the past 19 years, Smith has worked as a physician assistant in the orthopedics, neurosurgery, and imaging departments at Berkshire Medical Center. Most recently, since 2008, he was the chief physician assistant in the surgical services department at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Wheaton received her master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from MCPHS in Boston and a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary health studies from Stonehill College in Massachusetts. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
