Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) is pleased to welcome Russ Elek as Membership and Communications Assistant. Mr. Elek brings a wealth of experience serving businesses and nonprofits, and is a practitioner of public relationships, membership recruitment and social media communications.
As Membership and Communications Assistant, Mr. Elek will work to ensure VBSR is bringing quality and value-added programs and services to VBSR members. One of his initiatives will be to increase member engagement through social media and email communications, according to Andrea Cohen, VBSR’s Executive Director.
Prior to joining VBSR Mr. Elek worked at Burlington Business Association as the Communication and Membership Manager, did communication work with Friends of Burlington Gardens and served both in the Communication Department and as a case manager at Sojourners Care Network in Ohio.
“We are so pleased to have a person as talented as Russ join us to round out the VBSR team,” noted Ms. Cohen. “Russ has such a strong understanding of the needs of our business community. We’re fortunate Russ has decided to bring his energy and talents to VBSR.”
Mr. Elek lives in downtown Burlington with his wife Sarah, and is an avid Notre Dame fan, basketball player and golfer.
