OpenTempo, Inc., a Williston-based healthcare technology company, is making it a priority this holiday season to provide food for Vermonters in need.
“We delivered 335 pounds of food and over $400 to the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf,” says Walt Marti, the Chief Administrative Officer, whose family has long-supported the food shelf.
OpenTempo employees are also taking the afternoon of December 12 to prepare food for Meals on Wheels, as part of the Cooking for a Cause program at The Essex Resort & Spa.
“As a Vermont company, it’s really important to us to stay connected with the local community,” says OpenTempo CEO, Rich Miller. “And the holiday season is a perfect time to help out.”
OpenTempo has tripled in size since the start of 2013, so helping others is also a way to bond everyone together. “When we help the community, we also come together as a team,” says Miller.
The staff decided what they most wanted to do was help people without enough to eat. With a lot of food lovers on staff, donating food and preparing a meal was a choice everybody could get behind.
