With a fan base that has expanded all the way from VT to NYC and LA, where her career has taken off, Myra Flynn hasn’t forgotten her Vermont roots. She will be at home in VT this holiday season where Shelburne Vineyard will welcome her back for a post-holiday house concert beginning at 6 PM Saturday, December 27. Join them for an intimate evening featuring her unique and personal blend of soulful songwriting and ageless covers. Along with the music, Shelburne Vineyard wines and Fiddlehead will be for sale by the glass and Black Krim Tavern from Randolph VT, where Myra grew up, will be on hand selling a menu of their localvore supper dishes. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Flynn is a special performer, with a warm and personal presence and a power that moves the listener well beyond what the music itself brings to the performance. With her longtime musical partner, Paul Boffa, she delivers an evening that grows new fans with each performance. Flynn saw her musical future even as a child, taking the opportunity to get up and sing, says her bio, “on anything that looked remotely like a stage.” Named “Best Up-and-Coming Performer in VT” in 2010 and 2011 by Seven Days, she has also been cited as “New England Artist of the Month” by The Deli Magazine New England.
Shelburne Vineyard is located at 6308 Shelburne Road (RT 7), Shelburne VT. Founded in 1998 by Shelburne resident, Ken Albert, the Vineyard is known for its sustainably grown grapes and international award winning wines. The Vineyard’s Winery and Tasting Room are open 7 days a week, all year for Tastings and Tours, and serve as a regular venue for public and private special events, concerts and other community activities.
