Thomas S. Leavitt, Executive Vice President of Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of Simrat Applebaum as Marketing Administrator.
Ms. Applebaum will be providing tactical marketing support to the entire array of Merchants Bank business units, service lines and external marketing agencies. Ms. Applebaum’s responsibilities will include project management, database supervision, project implementation and results tracking.
“Adding Simrat to our Marketing Department reflects our company’s ongoing commitment to attracting some of the best minds in the area. Simrat’s hands-on marketing experience will be an important asset as we project our strengths around the state”, said Leavitt. Prior to joining Merchants Bank, Ms. Applebaum spent three years providing contract marketing and public relations services to a variety of clients in Utica and Ithaca, New York. A range of marketing services, from Web content and media planning to public relations programming and strategy, was the focus for Ms. Applebaum. Her client list in this capacity included a variety of businesses and institutions in higher education, fashion, retail and the food service categories. Ms. Applebaum has also gained valuable and varied marketing experience as a Marketing/Sales Manager for the renowned Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, New York. Ms. Applebaum holds a B.S from Ithaca College where she majored in Communication Management and Design.
