Vail Resorts has appointed Lea Gabrielle Potts as vice president and general manager at Mount Snow, which recently opened for its 70th season. Her hire is effective Dec. 19.
While new to the ski industry, Potts has more than 25 years of global leadership experience in a wide array of industries. She joins Mount Snow from the U.S. State Department, where she served as U.S. special envoy for global engagement.
Potts also formerly served as a combat naval aviator and intelligence officer in the Navy and as a journalist and correspondent for the Fox News Channel, among other positions. She is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
“Throughout her career, Lea has proven to be a strong leader with a focus on personal connection,” said Tim Baker, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Eastern Region Mountain Division. “Supported by the world-class team at Mount Snow, I am excited to see how Lea leads one of our premier Vermont resorts and helps elevate and innovate the guest and employee experience.”
