Lauren Schechter Appointed to YWCA Board

Lauren Schechter, Project Coordinator at PostScript, Inc., the Burlington-based marketing and public relations firm, was named as a board member to the YWCA. Schechter will work in concert with other board members to uphold the mission of the YWCA to support programs that eliminate racism, provide opportunities for growth, leadership and power for women and girls of all ages, races, cultures and creeds.

At PostScript Schechter primarily serves as production manager with account management responsibilities as well as marketing and event coordination support. Originally from Netanya, Israel, Schechter relocated to the states from Israel at the age of 16 with her parents and twin sister. Schechter currently lives in Essex. Her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont’s Business School were concentrated in marketing and completed in May 2005. She is currently a graduate student at Saint Michaels College in the Master of Science Administration program.

“I am honored to be part of the YWCA’s long-standing and important mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. Both personally and professionally, I am passionate about empowering other women and girls to achieve their dreams,” said Schechter.

Schechter was installed to the Board of YWCA Vermont at the Annual Meeting Wednesday, December 16, at the Echo Center in Burlington.
