Attorney Heather Southwell, former senior counsel for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel at the U.S. Department of Treasury, has joined the labor and employment team at Downs Rachlin Martin in Burlington.
“We are delighted to have Heather join DRM,” said Beth Rattigan, chair of the firm’s labor and employment group. “Her experience will enhance our established team of employment law advisers and litigators.”
At her previous position, Southwell represented management in more than 200 labor and employment matters and helped draft the diversity, equity and inclusion strategic plan for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. She was recipient of the Chief Counsel National Award for Outstanding Contribution to DEI.
Southwell holds an MBA from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston and a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
