Governor’s Institutes of Vermont welcomes six new trustees

The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont has welcomed six new trustees: Heather Ayres, of Quechee; Juliette Britton, of Manchester Center; Melanie Centeno, of Hinesburg; Lena Godeck (pictured), of Essex Junction; Jan Murray, of Shelburne; and Michelle Weissman, of South Burlington.

Ayres, owner and educational consultant at Ayres Education in Quechee, is an accomplished educational leader with extensive experience developing innovative programs to promote student success. She holds degrees from Brown University, Simmons University and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, including a doctorate in education.

Britton is the owner and consultant at Juliette Britton Creative Direction in Manchester Center. She has a career background in philanthropy and nonprofit service from the Boston area and throughout Vermont, including purchasing, revitalizing and operating the historic J.J. Hapgood General Store & Eatery in Peru for a decade.

Centeno, a higher education program development associate at WorldStrides, has studied, lived and worked abroad in Europe, Australia, Central America and South America. She is a graduate of Ithaca College and holds a masters degree in international education from the School for International Training in Brattleboro.

Godeck serves as a certified financial planner at Hickok & Boardman Capital Management, holding Series 7, 63 and 24 securities licenses. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Vermont.

Murray is a retired health care attorney who has represented hospital systems and academic medical center clients in numerous complex transactions and regulatory projects. She has been selected for inclusion in several industry directories, including The Best Lawyers in America, Legal 500, and Super Lawyers in Massachusetts and Ohio.

Weissman is vice president of North America business intelligence at NielsenIQ, a leading consumer intelligence company based in Chicago. She is a graduate of Champlain College has completed leadership programs at the University of Vermont and Harvard Business School Executive Education.
