FairPoint Communications, Inc. today announced Beth Fastiggi has been promoted to the position of vice president of government relations - Vermont. She will be responsible for FairPoint’s relationship with Vermont government officials and will serve as the point of contact for Vermont legislative representatives and staff and state agencies.
“This is an extremely important position for FairPoint as our relationships with state officials are a critical part of our business,” said Peter Nixon, president of FairPoint. “Beth has a solid background in our industry. She knows Vermont, understands the legislative and regulatory processes and is extremely well suited for this role.”
Fastiggi has worked for FairPoint, and before that Verizon and its predecessor companies, for more than 20 years. She most recently worked as public relations manager for Vermont in FairPoint’s corporate communications department. She has extensive technical and managerial experience in the telecommunications industry including positions in outside plant engineering, real estate, external relations and communications. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Vermont.
She is the board president of Everybody Wins! Vermont, with whom she volunteers as a reading mentor at a local elementary school in Burlington. She’s a member of the University of Vermont’s Alumni’s Vermont Regional Board. She is an active volunteer with the Northeast Disabled Athletic Association, the United Way of Chittenden County, and the FairPoint Telecom Pioneers.
