AJ Rossman has recently joined Microstrain as VP of Renewable Energy, Smart Grid and Environmental Monitoring. He brings 20 years of field based monitoring experience to the team and 15 years of experience in renewable energy. He received a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and then completed Masters Degrees in Environmental Science and Geology.
AJ founded Draker Labs which offers turnkey hardware and web services solutions to the commercial and utility scale photovoltaic (solar electric) industry. While at Draker, he was responsible for building full monitoring solutions for solar electric, solar thermal, wind, hydro, constructed wetlands and other green technologies. AJ just received an IEEE recognition award for his advancement of photovoltaic technology and services. He is also a lecturer at UVM and teaches renewable energy courses including field courses that have traveled to both Mexico and China.
At Microstrain, AJ’s focus is to lead the development of scalable sensing solutions for use in energy and environmental monitoring applications. He will identify new vertical markets for existing products and specify and engineer new ones for customers. He will also help write grants to help support new product development and has recently completed his first NSF SBIR grant application for a watershed monitoring application.
