The Vermont Captive Insurance Association, the largest captive insurance trade association in the world, has appointed Ian Davis as its next president. Davis joins the association from M&T Bank, where he had served as senior vice president of captive insurance.
“Ianʼs deep industry knowledge, collaborative style and proven leadership make him the right person to guide VCIA into its next chapter," said Gail Newman, chair of the VCIA board.
At M&T Bank, Davis managed an expansive captive portfolio and drove strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening client relationships, operational efficiency and industry engagement.
Previously, he was director of financial services at the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development.
Davis holds both a bachelor's degree in political science and policy and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Vermont. He has been recognized for his leadership by Captive Review and Vermont Business Magazine.
