Donna Carpenter, owner of Burton Snowboards, one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of products for snowboarding and the outdoors, will be honored as 2024 Person of the Year by the Vermont Council on World Affairs at the organization's International Day of Peace Summit Sept. 25 in Burlington.
Carpenter has left a distinctive mark on the worlds of snowboarding, business and citizen diplomacy, showing a longstanding commitment to inclusivity, equality and understanding around the world. Her work has spanned the globe, from mentorship projects through the U.S. State Department's Sports Diplomacy programs to expanding the Burton Snowboards footprint well beyond Vermont and ensuring that all voices are represented at the table.
