Diane McCarthy and Mark Melendy, shareholders at Sheehey Furlong & Behm in Burlington, have earned the distinction of Lawyer of the Year for 2025 by Best Lawyers, a peer-reviewed guide to the legal profession.
McCarthy was recognized by her peers in the category of business organizations for Burlington. She was also recognized generally in the categories of banking and finance law; corporate law; mergers and acquisitions law; and real estate law. McCarthy joined Sheehey in 1997 and is a principal of the firm.
Melendy, also a principal of the firm, was recognized as Lawyer of the Year in trust and estates law for Burlington. He was also cited for high-caliber work in tax law. Melendy's practice focuses on estate and trust planning and administration, business succession planning and tax advice.
