Southwestern Vermont Medical Center has announced the appointment of James Mithoefer, PA, as a physician assistant in the hospital’s ExpressCare department.
“ExpressCare is here for simple things like colds and sore throat and for things that are a little more serious, like abdominal pain, cuts, and sprains,” Mithoefer said. “I am happy to be working with the team at ExpressCare and to be delivering this care to people in Bennington.”
Mithoefer is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. and Northeastern University in Boston. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. His work experience includes jobs as a provider in the Fast Track division of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Emergency Department and as a professional ski patroller at Bromley Mountain Resort.
SVMC’s ExpressCare provides convenient, same-day service every day—including weekends and holidays—for anyone who needs care without an appointment. The practice treats minor illnesses and injuries, including those requiring laboratory testing and X-ray and other imaging services.
SVMC ExpressCare is located in Suite 111 of the Medical Office Building at 140 Hospital Drive in Bennington. The practice is open 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. seven days a week. No appointment is necessary. For more information, call (802) 440-4077.
