State Reps. Edye Graning and Monique Priestley have been selected to participate in an immersive five-day leadership-development program by the Council of State Governments, a nonpartisan organization that serves as a resource for state leaders in all 50 states and the six U.S. territories.
The Democratic lawmakers will join other members of the Class of 2025 Henry Toll Fellowship Program in Lexington, Kentucky, Aug. 8 to 12, where they will hone their communication, collaboration and leadership skills while forging lasting nonpartisan relationships.
Graning, who represents Chittenden County, serves as vice chair of the House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development and sits on the Sister State Program Working Group and the School District Redistricting Task Force, focusing on education funding and economic equity. Graning also chairs the Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District Board, where she has led policy reforms and community outreach since 2013.
Priestley, who represents Orange County, serves as clerk of the House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development and sits on the Joint Information Technology Oversight Committee, as well as multiple national tech policy groups. With a tech background spanning two decades, she brings hands-on experience in digital infrastructure and small business support to every aspect of her public service.
