Shelburne resident elected to Lund Family Center Board

Lund Family Center elected Katie Halsey to its Board of Trustees this summer. Halsey is a certified personal trainer for women of all ages. Her goal is “to help women to believe in themselves and love themselves for who they are.” She has extensive experience serving community organizations in the Norwich Vermont area where she lived for 14 years prior to her move back to the Champlain Valley in June of 2008. Her volunteer service has included four years of board leadership for the Norwich Parks and Recreation Council and six years as Board member, registrar and scheduler for the Hanover Hockey Association. Halsey’s commitment to Lund begins with her belief in the Lund mission to help children thrive and the power of individuals to make change when given the necessary tools. Katie lives in Shelburne Vermont with her husband David and children Kirsten and Stephen.

Halsey volunteered countless hours and organizational leadership to Lund during the past year, helping to successfully launch the organization’s first annual Mother’s Day Bike Ride and deliver a successful and profitable “An Enchanted Evening at Grosse Pointe” fundraiser. The Ride brought in 266 riders and volunteers and netted $50,000 to support Lund’s work to strengthen children and families.
