Roberta Hall, a US-based artist and political activist, has been selected as the winner of Burton's Design Your Pride initiative. She recently met with the Burton team to begin designing the snowboarding brand's first-ever Pride Collection, which will launch in spring 2023 and be available globally in stores and online.
Hall, whose art focuses on "the satirical and subversive, bringing vivid colors and pop-culture to her dark humor," is a strong proponent of LBGTQ+ rights, which she describes as human rights. Her Happy Impulse online shop features politically branded apparel, stickers, prints and pins.
As part of the Design Your Pride program, Burton will donate $20,000 to The Venture Out Project, a wilderness guiding company run by, and for, queer and transgender people.
