PF+C director appointed US attorney for Vermont

Paul Frank + Collins P.C. is honored that a shareholder and director of the firm, Tristram J. Coffin, has been appointed U.S. Attorney for Vermont.  He was confirmed on August 7, 2009 by the United States Senate after President Barack Obama nominated Mr. Coffin for the position on June 4, 2009 at the recommendation of Senator Patrick J. Leahy.
Prior to joining PF+C, Mr. Coffin served with distinction at the U.S. Attorney's office for the District of Vermont in Burlington for 12 years.  During that time, he represented the United States in a broad range of criminal matters including international narcotics trafficking, fraud and criminal enterprise investigations and prosecutions.  As an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division, Mr. Coffin represented federal agencies in a variety of civil matters, including health care and defense contracting fraud investigations, tort and medical malpractice actions, constitutional claims, employment discrimination suits and environmental actions.  Mr. Coffin has also previously served as counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee in the United States Senate.
Mr. Coffin has been involved in medical malpractice defense, white collar crime and commercial litigation work since his arrival at PF+C in 2006.   Firm President Alan D. Mr. Coffin received his undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University (with honors) in 1985.  He graduated from Columbia University School of Law, J.D. in 1989.
