MENTOR Vermont appoints Abdelghani, Barbieri to board of directors

Mona Abdelghani, associate youth service director at The DREAM Program, and Marissa Barbieri, a self-employed equity coach and facilitator, have been appointed to three-year terms on the MENTOR Vermont Board of Directors.

The MENTOR Vermont board is composed of community members from across the state, and oversees the organization’s efforts to close the mentoring gap and drive equity through quality relationships.

In her role at The DREAM Program, Abdelghani oversees both community-based and school-based mentoring programs throughout Vermont. She also oversees DREAM’s Summer Enrichment Program and Village Mentoring Program nationally.

Barbieri consults primarily with individuals, organizations, schools and school districts to help cultivate a culture of equity. Adept in School Reform Initiative collaborative practices, organizational assessment and strategic planning, she has partnered with groups ranging from middle school students to nonprofit leadership in creating opportunities for transformative change.
