Lund has elected Lisa Pizzagalli President of Lund Board of Trustees. Pizzagalli joined Lund’s Board in 2007 and for the past two years has served as the Board’s Vice President.
Pizzagalli has been engaged in community service for more than 15 years. She is a past board member of Visiting Nurses Association and Vermont Association of the Blind. Lisa has worked with March of Dimes and currently works with Shelburne Museum. A Cornell graduate with an MBA from George Washington University, she owned and operated her own business and has been involved with telecommunications and the construction industries. Lisa and her family live in Shelburne.
Pizzagalli volunteered countless hours and organizational leadership to Lund since joining the Board. She Chaired Lund’s Development Committee, and this year alone helped to raise over $211,000 at Lund events including the 4th annual Mother’s Day Bike Ride, Mad Hatter Tea & Bubbly and Heart of the Community Awards. She has served on Board Resources, Strategic Planning and Executive Committees and has chaired the Development Committee.
Sara Byers has been named vice president of Lund Board of Trustees. Sara Byers joined Lund’s Board in 2009.
Byers is the Executive Vice President of her family’s business, Leonardo’s Pizza, and oversees the company and its three locations. Prior to joining the family business, Sara worked with Gap, Inc. for 11 years.
In addition to Sara’s role on the Lund board, Sara serves on the board of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce where she chairs the Health Care Committee and acts as board liaison for the Burlington Young Professionals Group. She is also a member of the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts Board of Directors. Sara was the recipient of the Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce’s 2010 Rising Star Award and Women Helping Battered Women’s 2009 Community Spirit Award. She is a graduate of the Leadership Champlain program and the Excellence in Executive Leadership program. Sara lives in Essex Junction with her husband, Kelly, and their daughter, Ella.
Byers is currently serves on the Development and Legislative Committees and has served on Program and Social Media Ad Hoc Committee previously.
Lund elects Jane Bryan to the Board of Trustees.
Bryan has twelve years of experience in the field of Human Resources, beginning her career at Palmer and Associates, where she provided consulting services to a wide variety of businesses in the Burlington area. Jane first became involved with Lund at that time, providing guidance and direction in the area of job evaluation. Jane has also worked in Education, and was a teacher in Colchester for ten years. A graduated of Middlebury College, Jane received her M.Ed. from Saint Michael's College in 2003. In addition to being involved in local schools, she has also volunteered with the Refugee Resettlement Program. Jane is currently the Director of Human Resources at Bowl New England, Inc. and lives in Colchester with her husband, Mike, and their daughter, Grace.
Lund electsWill Rowe to the Board of Trustees.
Rowe has worked for over 25 years in youth services including working with Vermont Child Protective Services and Adoptions Services and as the Executive Director of Spectrum Youth and Family Services for 14 years. Rowe has worked with Lund on many occasions over the years and has a strong belief in the mission and role of Lund. Rowe is currently the Operations Team Leader at the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living and prior to that served as the CEO of a national health advocacy organization. Rowe has served on several boards including the Burlington Youth Employment Program, The Schoolhouse, The Foundation for Pain Medicine and the National Council on Health.
With more than 122 years of experience strengthening families, Lund annually serves more than 5,000 children and family members. Lund’s work focuses on three goals: strengthening families, reducing child abuse and neglect, and helping to create new families through adoption. Its mission is to help children thrive by serving families with children, pregnant or parenting teens and young adults, and adoptive families.
