Jenna’s Promise appoints Daniel Franklin as chief operating officer

Daniel Franklin, former vice president for advocacy and community relations at the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery in Montpelier, has been named the first chief operating officer at the substance-use prevention organization Jenna's Promise.

The COO is an important member of the leadership team of Jenna's Place, which comprises Jenna’s House Community Center, JP’s Promising Goods, Jenna’s Promise Coffee Roasting Company and three recovery residences. Soon, a workforce development program, a café to be known as Jenna’s Coffee House and a building that will house the Johnson Health Center will be added to the statewide organization’s programs.

“Daniel Franklin brings years of experience as a nonprofit executive and community leader at a time of significant growth for Jenna’s Promise,” founder Dawn Tatro explains.

Among his many accolades and accomplishments, Franklin was a 2017 Vermont Business Magazine Rising Star and was named both a Lamoille Hero, by the Lamoille Area Health and Human Services Response Command Center, and a Vermont Business Wellness Leader, by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, in 2021.

Franklin's role will cover a wide array of responsibilities, but special emphasis will go to Jenna's Promise recovery housing programs, its social enterprises and fundraising activities.

"I'm so proud to come into this role and be able to contribute to Jenna's Promise and to work in a community where people really care about each other," Franklin said. "I'm really looking forward to being able to help Jenna's Promise get to the next level."

A native of Guilford, VT, Franklin has worked as leader, advocate, fundraiser and frontline worker in the health and human services fields for many years.
