James Westcott joins VHB as a structural engineer in the growing transportation engineering group in Vermont

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB) announces that James Westcott has joined the firm as a Structural Engineer in the Transportation Engineering group.

Mr. Westcott will work to further enhance the firm’s growing Vermont office, providing a variety of services for bridge design, site/civil engineering and complex bridge inspections. He is currently working on several structural engineering projects, including work for the Vermont Agency of Transportation on bridges in Rochester and Middlebury, the Town of Jericho for a bridge on Browns Trace, as well as providing bridge engineering services for Stratton Mountain Resort. A 2008 graduate of the University of Vermont, majoring in Civil Engineering, Mr. Westcott has continued his post-graduate training by obtaining various FHWA-NHI, OSHA and railroad certifications. He brings a wealth of engineering and field experience to his new role.

Prior to beginning his career with VHB, Mr. Westcott worked in Boston for Baker Engineering as a bridge inspection team leader and load rater where he inspected and rated a variety of bridge structures for MassDOT, CTDOT, MBTA and RIDOT. He lives in South Burlington with his wife Kristi, where he enjoys playing lacrosse, basketball, hiking, fishing, cooking and biking.
