Kirby Dunn, executive director of HomeShare Vermont, will step down Sept. 15 from the position she has held for the past 23 years. Connor Timmons, former executive director at the Common Ground Center in Starksboro, will replace Dunn in the leadership role.
Dunn has overseen many changes at the nonprofit since joining in 2000. During her tenure, HomeShare Vermont has grown from serving one county to seven and its success in connecting people to share homes for mutual benefit has been recognized and studied nationally.
“While everyone involved will be sad to see Kirby go, HomeShare Vermont is in a great position for our next leader to take the reins because of her many years of expertise and dedication,” board president Margaret Cicchetti said. “Knowing the strength of the finances and the knowledge of the staff and board members, Kirby can enjoy the retirement she deserves while HSVT continues as a leader in homesharing.”
