Colin Hilliard, former deputy director of the Burlington Business Association, has been appointed director of advocacy and outreach at AARP Vermont. He brings to his new role years of experience in local advocacy efforts, specifically on housing, zoning and public-safety issues as well as in digital and field organizing.
Hilliard will work on advocacy and outreach initiatives designed to enhance awareness and community relationships while engaging volunteers in grassroots advocacy campaigns. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont’s Grossman School of Business.
Hilliard also co-chairs the Burlington-Kuyalnyck (Ukraine) Sister City program. He has been active in organizing Vermont aid to Ukraine through his work as an adviser to Actions Beyond Words.
