Kathryn Austin, president and CEO of Community National Bank, was recognized in March as Woman of the Year by the Vermont Bankers Association, a trade organization representing the state's banking industry.
The award is presented annually to an individual who has a long history of going above and beyond in helping their employees reach their full potential, through mentoring, peer-to-peer exchange or volunteerism. For more than 40 years, Austin has taken many women under her wing and encouraged their growth and development. She has also been a positive influence on many women who have engaged with her on the numerous community boards she serves on.
Austin has served in her current position at Community National since January 2017. She is a graduate of the New England School of Banking at Williams College and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. She is a previous recipient of the VBA's Outstanding Community Banker Award.
