Darcey Lafreniere, a respiratory therapist at University of Vermont Medical Center, has been honored as 2024 Respiratory Therapist of the Year by the Vermont-New Hampshire Society for Respiratory Care.
The award honors individuals who demonstrate care for their patients, a commitment to their colleagues and contributions to education and research in field of respiratory therapy.
“We look for someone who impacts their patients, and she’s one of the best — not just at that, but also at helping her peers and colleagues," said Chris Chambers, supervisor of respiratory therapy at UVMMC and a society board member.
Lafreniere holds a Bachelor of Arts in German language and literature from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor of Science in respiratory care therapy from Boise State University.
