Alysia Straw, former recruitment and workforce development specialist at Springfield Hospital, has been named director of health careers exploration at Southern Vermont AHEC, a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to growing and sustaining southern Vermont’s health workforce, especially in rural and underserved communities.
In her role, Straw will provide health careers exploration programming to middle school and high school students in southern Vermont by collaborating with educational institutions and organizations that support health professions training.
She is a graduate of Alliance University and holds an MBA in health care administration from Rivier University, Straw also holds a certification in diversity in human resources from Cornell University.
