Norwich University names new senior development officer

Sean Lord, of Natick, Mass., has been named the new senior development officer covering Vermont, New Jersey, metropolitan New York, western Florida and Texas.

Lord earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Norwich and commissioned into the Army in 1985. He served as an armor officer and executive officer at Fort Knox until 1988 and as a public affairs officer in the Army Reserves and Massachusetts National Guard until 1996.

Lord returns to Norwich from a career in sales, most recently at Hibu, formerly Yellowbook, where he spent 14 years in sales and management. He has over 25 years of advertising sales experience in radio, cable, print and internet marketing

Lord said he feels honored to come back to Norwich at a time of such historic growth. The university has embarked on its largest comprehensive campaign ever, with a goal of $100 million by the university’s bicentennial in 2019.

“I am thrilled to play a part in growing Norwich University, a place that developed my sense of humor and the ability to find joy in the small things,” Lord said. “I look forward to sharing stories with alumni.”
