Monigle chosen as lead advocate for Kayden’s Law in NH, VT and ME

Christine Monigle, principal of Leto Advisors & Advocates in Hanover, NH, has been chosen by the National Safe Parents Coalition as the lead advocate to enact Kayden’s Law in the states of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Kayden’s Law is named for 7-year-old Kayden Mancuso, a Bucks County, PA, student who was murdered by her father in 2018 during an unsupervised visit. The 2022 reauthorization and passage in Congress of the Violence Against Women Act provides $25 million in additional federal funds for states that reform child custody laws.

Kayden's Law requires an evidentiary hearing during child-custody proceedings to verify allegations — new or old — of abuse. The law also restricts expert testimony to those who are appropriately qualified, and limits the use of reunification and therapies that cannot be proven to be safe and effective.

Monigle is a certified divorce coach and trained advocate. She works with those in the process of divorce and in cooperation with attorneys or mediators to craft better parenting plans, prepare for family court and many other services. She is licensed and has been trained by Tina Swithin, founder of One Mom’s Battle, a national divorce rights advocacy group.
