The University of Vermont Foundation and Fletcher Allen Health Care are pleased to announce the appointment of Manon O’Connor as senior director of development for the Vermont Cancer Center, effective March 1, 2013.
In her new role, O’Connor will work closely with Vermont Cancer Center co-directors Claire Verschraegen, M.D., and Gary Stein, Ph.D., as well as the VCC membership community, which includes faculty engaged in education, research, patient care and outreach services.
O’Connor, who resides in Shelburne, joined the UVM College of Medicine’s development office as director of major gifts in 2005 and was promoted to senior director of development in 2011 with the establishment of the UVM Foundation. Prior to that, she served in the Office of Development at Fletcher Allen from 2002 to 2005 in a variety of roles, including director for the Annual Fund, Children’s Miracle Network director, major gifts officer, and interim director for development. She is already widely known in the cancer fundraising community for her nine-year tenure as a board member of the Cancer Patient Support Program, including three years as president of the board.
