Kathryn Leech of Dorset and Buddy Teich of Dorset and New York have been elected to three-year terms on the Board of Trustees at the Southern Vermont Arts Center announced Stanley Stroup, president of the board. Their terms of office begin immediately.
Currently, Leech serves as Vice President/Commercial Account Manager in the Bennington and Manchester offices of Chittenden Bank, a division of People’s United Bank. Her previous commercial bank experience includes the Bank of America in Anaheim, CA, the Bank of New England in Newport, RH and National Westminster Bank of Bridgewater, NJ.
Since 1993, Leech has resided in Dorset with her husband, Jay and their three children. She has been involved with the community as the Executive Director of the Dorset Education Fund. Her community affiliations include the First Congregational Church of Manchester, the Northshire Figure Skating Club and the Equinox Lacrosse Association. Leech received her BA degree from the University of New Hampshire.
In commenting on her appointment, Leech said, " I am honored to serve on the Board of this wonderful institution. The Southern Vermont Arts Center enriches this region in so many ways that I look forward to supporting its mission and continued success."
Buddy Teich, formerly Chairman of the Board of Acme Architectural Products, a manufacturer and installer of fireproof steel doors and door frames, is active in the Arts Center’s programming as a lead sponsor of the performing arts program. He was organizer of “Art on the Park”, a 2008 SVAC Fundraiser in NYC. He has been a board member of the 92nd St. “Y” in NYC and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and the World Presidents’ Organization. Teich received his BA degree from Syracuse University.
The Southern Vermont Arts Center is a non-profit 501c3 organization founded 86 years ago to support the visual and performing arts of the region. The Arts Center will be closed for its seasonal break from April 9 until the gala reopening on May 8.
