VHB has announced that Guillermo Gomez, PE has joined our South Burlington, Vermont office as a highway design engineer in their growing Transportation Engineering practice. Guillermo has close to ten years’ experience in project management, transportation planning, and roadway design. He brings a mix of public and private sector experience to the team, having joined VHB from the Burlington, Vermont Department of Public Works, where he spent the last three years as a public works engineer and municipal project manager. In this role, Guillermo was responsible for the selection of consultants and contractors who provided design and construction services for the City and was responsible for overseeing and reviewing their technical and engineering performance. He also represented the City at various public meetings and was directly involved with the coordination of transportation planning efforts with the City’s Planning & Zoning Department and the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission. Prior to joining the Burlington Department of Public Works, Guillermo worked as a Project Engineer at BCC Engineering in Miami, Florida where he worked primarily on the geometric design of highways and urban roadways. Guillermo is originally from Bogota, Colombia and speaks five languages; English, Spanish, French, Italian and German.
