D&K’s Johnston named 2025 Young Engineer of Year

Charlie Johnston

Charlie Johnston, dam group manager at DuBois & King in Randolph, has been named 2025 Young Engineer of the Year by the Vermont Society of Professional Engineers. He accepted the honor at the Engineers Week Banquet in South Burlington in late March.

Johnston is experienced in providing planning, evaluation, permitting, design and construction of municipal, state and federally owned dams. His contributions include numerous dam rehabilitation and inspection projects across New England and the Northeast.

Johnston holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and professional engineer licenses in Vermont and New Hampshire.

“Charlie is a perfect example of what a young person can accomplish with dedication and hard work,” said D&K CEO Alan Gould. “We’re lucky to have him on our team and look forward to his building on this accomplishment in the years to come.”
