The CCTV Center for Media & Democracy, a community media center that operates a government access channel and provides training and technical service to individuals and nonprofits in and around Burlington, has announced that founding director Lauren-Glenn Davitian will step down from her leadership role to take on special projects for the organization.
Davitian, the center's former executive director who now serves as interim operations director, will move to her special projects role once a permanent operations director is hired by the board. There, she will focus on advocacy, archival research, media production and preparation for CCTV’s 40th anniversary in June 2024.
“CCTV was launched in 1984 to put local media in the hands of the people,” Davitian said. “While it’s a work in progress, we continue our efforts together to build a community for all. I am proud to be a leader of this movement, thriving today in Burlington, across Vermont and throughout the United States.”
