BMH hires new patient experience director

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital announced that Jodi Dodge, RN has been hired as the new Director of Patient Experience. She began working part-time in mid-February and started in a full-time capacity in March.

Dodge has been a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, Massachusetts for the past 11 years. She is currently attending American International College, where she is working toward a master’s degree in nursing, with an emphasis on Nursing Administration. “As a nurse in the Emergency Department, I enjoyed working on projects aimed at improving our patients’ experience” says Dodge “I’m excited to take on a new challenge that promotes excellence in patient care across an entire health care organization.”

“The Director of Patient Experience is responsible for working with both patients and hospital staff to enhance patient safety, improve the efficiency and quality of care, and increase patient satisfaction with their hospital experience,” says BMH Medical Director, Kathleen McGraw, MD.

“Jodi’s experience combined with her special interest in organizational behavior and organizational service excellence will bring a new level of focus to this very important role,” says McGraw. “We are thrilled to have her join the BMH team.”

BMH has provided healthcare services for over one hundred years. A licensed, 61-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in southeastern Vermont, it serves a rural population of about 55,000 people in 22 towns in Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The medical staff includes 137 board-certified physicians, both primary care and many specialists, and its 572 employees enjoy the help of over 110 active volunteers.
