Sunsoil, a certified organic hemp farm and top-five CBD brand, announced the promotion of Bharat Ayyar from general manager to CEO. He succeeds company co-founder Alejandro Bergad, who will remain on Sunsoil's leadership team as chief vision officer and member of the board of directors.
Ayyar said his plans include growing Subsoil by leaning into the company's core strength and mission: making the highest-quality, organic CBD (an active ingredient in cannnabis) at the lowest prices in the industry.
"At today's prices CBD is a luxury product, but it has the potential to help millions of people," Ayyar said.
Ayyar is an experienced leader with a background in marketing, e-commerce and strategy. Prior to Sunsoil, he was general manager of Simple Contacts, a direct-to-consumer telemedicine startup, and CEO and co-founder of Conductor, a mobile transportation app startup.
He is a graduate of Yale University and holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
