Amy Caldwell was recently appointed marketing director of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. Caldwell brings experience in managing and administering varied business operations, and for 20 years has been owner of The Dressing Room, a successful small business specializing in women’s clothing and accessories in St. Albans. She is also owner/instructor of Discover Music, a private music studio in Fairfield. In the past, Caldwell taught design at the college level and music education in elementary schools in Westford and Fairfield, Vermont. Caldwell has also worked as a marketing director for architectural firms and small music ensembles. She currently plays the clarinet with the Vermont Wind Ensemble and other small ensembles.

Caldwell studied music theory and composition at Lawrence Conservatory of Music, received a B.S. in art and design from the University of Vermont, and participated in graduate coursework at St. Michael’s College. She has served on the boards of the Vermont Contemporary Music Ensemble, the Vermont MIDI Project, Counterpoint, and as president of the Franklin County Home Health Agency and the Rotary Club of St. Albans. She lives with her family in Fairfield.
