The board of the Vermont Community Foundation announced that it has hired Dan Smith as its next President & CEO. Smith brings to the Community Foundation experience in public service, organizational planning and development, as well as a strong legal background.

Competitive Computing (C2), a Colchester-based digital solutions company specializing in Digital Commerce, Cloud Infrastructure and Managed Services has hired Nathan Brown. Nathan Brown recently graduated from Vermont Technical College with a degree in Computer Science and joined C2 full time as an Associate Software Developer.

Citizens Bank has announced the appointment of Christine Roberts as Head of Student Lending. A 27-year veteran of the finance services industry, Roberts will oversee Citizens Student Lending, which helps students pay for college by offering the most borrowing options of any lender, including refinancing of both private and federal student loans.

College of St. Joseph has named Jeff Brown as the new Athletic Director. Brown, a native of Schenectady, N.Y., comes to CSJ from Albany Academy, where he served as the principal for the elementary school for the past seven years.

Brown has dedicated the majority of his career to education, but another passion is athletics. Now, he has the opportunity to merge the two.

The Vermont Foodbank is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Maring as Chief Operations Officer. Maring comes to the Foodbank from City Market/Onion River Co-op in Burlington, the second largest single store co-op in the nation with the mission of strengthening the local food system and eradicating childhood hunger in Burlington.

The Vermont Retail & Grocers Association has awarded $15,000 in scholarships to ten graduating high school seniors. The scholarships, which are in the amount of $1,500 per student, will help with tuition expenses for the 2016-2017 academic year. For over 25 years, the VRGA Scholarship Fund has provided financial assistance for college to members’ employees and/or their children.
