Vermont Watchdog has added its presence to the Vermont Statehouse press corps, with the hiring of reporter Michael Bielawski.

Gloria LaClair has been selected as January Employee of the Month at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, in recognition of sustained service excellence. LaClair, who works in the Hospital’s nutrition services, was cited for her strong work ethic, her willingness to help when needed, and her positive attitude.

Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott recently hosted a Salute to the Vermont senior athletes who won medals and ribbons at the 2015 National Senior Games held in Minneapolis, MN. A reception followed in the Cedar Creek Room in the Statehouse.

Kiran Waqar, 15, of South Burlington and Miranda Walbridge, 12, of Barre today were named Vermont's top two youth volunteers of 2016 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism.

Vermont dairy farmers were recognized for producing high quality cow and goat milk at the Dairy Farmers’ Appreciation Banquet on January 28th during the 82nd Vermont Farm Show. The 2015 overall highest-quality (cow) milk award was presented to Allan and Karen Bathalon of North Troy. The 2015 overall highest-quality goat milk award was awarded to Frank and Karen Huard, Craftsbury.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties (VNA) has announced the appointment of Tara Graham as Executive Director of Hospice and Palliative Care for Vermont’s oldest and largest home health and hospice agency.
