Competitive Computing (C2), has announced their 2016 summer interns. Representing three Vermont colleges and universities, including Champlain College, The University of Vermont and Vermont Technical College, they are Aaron Millet, Alana Carey and Seth Lunn. They bring unique skills and experience to C2.

Citizens Bank has announced the appointment of Christine Roberts as Head of Student Lending. A 27-year veteran of the finance services industry, Roberts will oversee Citizens Student Lending, which helps students pay for college by offering the most borrowing options of any lender, including refinancing of both private and federal student loans.

College of St. Joseph has named Jeff Brown as the new Athletic Director. Brown, a native of Schenectady, N.Y., comes to CSJ from Albany Academy, where he served as the principal for the elementary school for the past seven years.

Brown has dedicated the majority of his career to education, but another passion is athletics. Now, he has the opportunity to merge the two.

The Vermont Foodbank is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Maring as Chief Operations Officer. Maring comes to the Foodbank from City Market/Onion River Co-op in Burlington, the second largest single store co-op in the nation with the mission of strengthening the local food system and eradicating childhood hunger in Burlington.

The Vermont Retail & Grocers Association has awarded $15,000 in scholarships to ten graduating high school seniors. The scholarships, which are in the amount of $1,500 per student, will help with tuition expenses for the 2016-2017 academic year. For over 25 years, the VRGA Scholarship Fund has provided financial assistance for college to members’ employees and/or their children.

Southern Vermont College (SVC) has announced the appointment of Nina G. Moser as Vice President for College Advancement. In her new position, Moser will provide leadership in all of the College’s advancement efforts, including campaign planning, major and planned giving, annual giving, external and alumni relations, communications and marketing.

Bruce Bernier, senior lender and senior VP for Merchants Bank recently announced the addition of John Keshavan to the position of VP, regional manager and loan resolution officer at Merchants Bank.

Jason Doiron has been promoted to chief investment officer and senior vice president at National Life Group.

Doiron will be responsible for managing the general account portfolios of National Life’s insurance companies.

The Greater Burlington YMCA has announced that Rick Blount of Burlington has been selected to lead the Y’s fundraising and community relations activities as Vice President of Development. The appointment comes as the organization celebrates its 150th year of serving the community and moves forward on plans to build a new facility in Burlington.
