The J Warren & Lois McClure Foundation has hired Carolyn Weir, CAP, as executive director. The McClure Foundation, a supporting organization of the Vermont Community Foundation, provides grants that promote equitable access to education and training pathways that lead to Vermont’s promising jobs.

An automotive technology teacher from Enosburg Falls has won second place in the 2019 Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence, earning his high school skilled trades program $35,000 as part of $1 million awarded nationally.

Scott Bassett of Milton will travel to San Diego, California to represent Vermont in the National Best Bagger Competition in February 2020. Bassett, a cashier at Hannaford Supermarkets in Milton, won the title of 2019 Vermont Best Bagger on Saturday, October 19th at the 32nd annual Vermont Retail & Grocers Association state-wide bagging championship.

Kristin McAndrew, former director of admission, graduate business programs at University of Notre Dame, has been named vice president for enrollment and marketing at Saint Michael's College. She began her role effective early September.

The Energy Co-op of Vermont, a not-for-profit cooperative that serves over 2,700 members and customers in northwest and central Vermont, elected four new board members for three year terms at their annual meeting held at Efficiency Vermont headquarters in Burlington on October 22nd.

Community Capital of Vermont announced that long time Central Vermont resident Alex Rob will be its Executive Director. Rob comes to Community Capital with a background in financial and human services. For the past five years, he has been the Executive Director of Community Connections, the largest provider of childcare in Washington County.

Community National Bank (CNB) President Kathy Austin is pleased to announce the promotion of Beth Morin to Vice President and Senior Loan Operations Officer. Beth started working for CNB in 1985 and has served the bank in many lending capacities. Most recently, she held the position of Vice President and Special Asset Officer.

Vermont Public Radio has elected four new members to its Board of Directors to serve three-year terms. “We’re excited to welcome these four new members to VPR’s board,” said Charlie Browne, chair of VPR’s Board of Directors.
