A new solar farm powering a local retirement community is helping fund the gift for a Make-A-Wish child in Vermont.

The 500kW solar project sited on the farm owned by Bristol's Livingston family now powers 20 percent of operations at Wake Robin, a nearby continuing care retirement community.

Lisaius Marketing announced that, after founding the company and acting as president and creative director for over 23 years, Joe Lisaius is stepping down but will continue with the company as a consultant. Three individuals will be enshrined in the Vermont Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame later this year. The VAB has announced that the trio of honorees will include VOX AM/FM owner and General Manager Ken Barlow, Local 22 WVNY/Local 44 WFFF Operations Director Ken Kasz and longtime WJOY morning host Ginny McGehee.

Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) welcomed Brian Aitchison to its Board of Directors at the September board meeting. Brian is a lifelong Vermonter who grew up in Montpelier and attended the University of Vermont, where he earned a Bachelor of Science. Brian joined Denis, Ricker and Brown Insurance in 1987.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital has announced that midwife Emily Martyn, CNM has joined the staff of Brattleboro OB/GYN and is accepting new patients.

Martyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Kenyon College in Gambier, OH, her Certificate in Nursing and Masters of Science in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing in New Haven, CT.

The Vermont Humanities Council has named Burr and Burton Academy teacher Sigourney “Sunny” Wright as its 2015 humanities educator of the year.
