The KidSafe Collaborative, which works to improve our community’s response to child abuse and neglect, has elected three new Directors to its Board:

Bettina Dold, Marketing Director, Physician’s Computer Company; she is a resident of Burlington.

Jake Ide, Director of Development, Vermont Community Loan Fund; he is a resident of Richmond.

Ms. Bea Grause, R.N., J.D., currently the President and CEO of the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (VAHHS), has been named by the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) Board of Trustees to succeed Dennis P. Whalen as HANYS' next President upon his retirement in June 2016. The association embarked on a national search process when Mr.

Prevent Child Abuse Vermont (PCAVT) has announced the results of the 2015 Officers of the Board elections. Elected at the Board of Directors meeting, the following Board Members will serve one year terms as officers of PCAVT beginning immediately.

Circus Smirkus, Vermont’s own award-winning international youth circus, will be awarded a Community Impact Award by Sabrina Motley, Smithsonian Folklife Festival Director, at the 2nd Annual Celebration of Circus, held at the Big Apple Circus Big Top Tent, next to Lincoln Center in New York City.

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) has welcomed Kurt Wagner, MD, to the SVMC Emergency Department.

Dr. Wagner received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago and a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

SVMC Pownal Campus, a new family medicine practice serving patients in Southwestern Vermont and the Northern Berkshires, welcomes Barbara Raskin, MD.

SymQuest Group, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., recently announced the addition of Stephen Trombly, Leonard Sokol, and Matt Weber to its operations department. Trombly joins SymQuest as a Field Service Technician, Sokol as a Warehouse Specialist, and Weber as a Document Solutions Professional Services Team Manager.

North American Breweries has announced that Mark Hegedus, a beer industry veteran, will lead the Magic Hat Brewing Company as general manager. This newly created position is part of North American Breweries’ plan to re-invigorate and grow Magic Hat’s position as an established craft brewery with a 21-year history.

Chairman, President and CEO of Community Bancorp. and Community National Bank Stephen P. Marsh has announced the promotion of Kathryn (Kathy) M. Austin to President and Chief Operating Officer of Community Bancorp. and Community National Bank. Kathy’s promotion will take effect on January 1, 2016.

The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is pleased to welcome Stephanie Kucinskas as Office/Data Manager. Kucinskas will oversee all of CLiF’s internal systems, manage CLiF’s growing database, and support programs and development.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Boards of Trustees elected a new chair and three new members during the Board’s meeting on December 4, 2015.

Anne-Lee Verville, of Hopkinton, NH, will begin her term as Board Chair on January 1, 2016. She succeeds outgoing Chair Prof. Robert A. Oden Jr. Ph.D. who will remain on the Board and will serve as Vice Chair.
