Vermont Business Magazine Three Vermont Organizations Unite to Celebrate 80 Years of Vermont Heritage with a Joint Birthday Bash in Shelburne, Vermont!
Vermont Teddy Bear, Vermont Flannel, and Local Maverick partner to host one of the state's most exciting family events of the summer. A family-friendly celebration featuring local food, entertainment, and a drone light show
On Saturday, August 8, Vermont Teddy Bear, Vermont Flannel, and Local Maverick will present the Birthday Bash Anniversary Celebration at the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory in Shelburne, commemorating 45 years of Vermont Teddy Bear and 35 years of Vermont Flannel while creating a memorable community gathering for families from across Vermont and beyond.
The event reflects a shared vision among the three organizations: creating experiences that bring people together, celebrate Vermont's unique culture, and support the local businesses that make the state special.
"At a time when meaningful community connections matter more than ever, this partnership is about creating opportunities for people to gather, celebrate, and support local businesses," said Ryan Nakhleh, of Local Maverick. "Vermont Teddy Bear, Vermont Flannel, and Local Maverick all share a belief that strong communities are built when people come together around great experiences, great products, and a sense of place."
Guests will enjoy an 80s & 90s themed afternoon and evening packed with family-friendly activities, including a bouncy castle, face painting, a bubble show, lawn games, and entertainment from DJ Fattie B. The event will also feature a curated lineup of Vermont food vendors organized in partnership with the South End Get Down, along with beverages from The Pinery Bar.
The celebration will culminate with a spectacular Drone Light Show, creating a memorable finale that honors the legacies of two iconic Vermont brands while showcasing the power of community collaboration.

The Birthday Bash is part of the broader A BEARy Vermont Event Series, a partnership between Vermont Teddy Bear, Vermont Flannel, and Local Maverick that aims to create engaging community events throughout the year while providing opportunities for Vermont businesses, makers, artists, and organizations to connect with residents and visitors. Additional dates include October 10th and December 5th. They plan to make this an annual event series, continuing in 2027.
The event is made possible through the generous support of community partners including Northfield Savings Bank, The Automaster, Simon Pearce, VT Digger, and Engage CFO.
