Interstates:
Bethel-Brookfield, I-89 Paving – Paving operations continue on the northbound and southbound ramps of Exit 4 in Randolph, and northbound north of Exit 4 between Randolph and Brookfield. Shoulder cleanup and guardrail installation work from Randolph towards Bethel. Motorists should expect grooved pavement, uneven lanes, and single-lane closures with speed reductions to 55 mph Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Brattleboro, I-91 Exit 3 Paving – At the beginning of the week, crews will continue to access the shoulders for the installation of detour signs from Brattleboro to Putney on the following routes: I-91, U.S. 5, VT 9, and at the on- and off-ramps of Exit 2 and Exit 4. Exit 3 on- and off- ramps in both directions are scheduled to be closed for milling operations on Thursday 7/9 and Friday 7/10 from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Montpelier-Waterbury, I-89 South Paving – Expect major delays due to multiple lane closures between Exits 10 and 8 as final paving continues and shoulder material is installed this week. Motorists should also expect uneven lanes and a milled surface. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph within the project limits, and fines will be doubled.
Newbury-Ryegate, I-91 Paving – A single-lane closure is planned for I-91 North for final paving operations. The work zone will begin south of Exit 17 where a speed limit reduction to 55 mph will be in place. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Royalton, I-89 Bridge Rehabilitation – Bridge deck and abutment work will continue Monday through Thursday near Exit 3 with crossovers, 15-foot width restrictions, and a speed limit of 55 mph in place until fall 2027. Motorists should expect a lane diversion and a speed limit of 30 mph on VT 107 with a 14-foot height restriction under Bridge 26S.
Waterbury-Richmond, I-89 Southbound Paving – There will be one lane of travel south of Exit 11 between MM 77 and MM 68 with occasional northbound closures at the U-Turns from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Motorists are urged to use both lanes to the merge point and should anticipate slow-moving travel and traveling on uneven lanes and milled surfaces throughout the work zone. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph and fines will be doubled.
State Highways:
Addison, VT 17 Repaving – Incidental work continues. Motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Barre City, VT 14 and Hill Street Railroad Crossing Improvements – Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Hill Street between VT 14 and Perry Street will have intermittent single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers as the contractor mobilizes equipment and materials, installs signage, and conducts clearing and excavation. No traffic impacts are expected at the VT 14 railroad crossing.
Barre-East Montpelier, VT 14 Resurfacing – No work is scheduled for this week.
Bennington, VT 9/Main Street Bridge Replacement – Crews will continue forming and pouring concrete railings and sidewalks adjacent to the bridge. Motorists should expect daytime lane closures on Main Street, with traffic controlled by signal lights.
Bennington, VT 67A Roundabout Construction – Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., flaggers will control alternating one-way traffic on the VT 67A, Silk Road, Matteson Road, and College Drive approaches to the VT 67A roundabout, with traffic maintained on the roundabout. Crews will conduct final paving and line striping throughout the project area weather permitting.
Brattleboro, U.S. 5 Paving – Paving is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning. Flaggers and uniformed traffic officers will direct traffic through the work zones from Noah’s Lane through the Exit 3 roundabout. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Brattleboro, VT 9 Class 1 Paving – Sidewalk work continues on VT 9 from the Edward Heights intersection to the I-91 Exit 2 interchange. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning, flaggers will control traffic in intersections and through single-lane closures. Pedestrians should watch for sidewalk detours and accessible ramps and use caution navigating the work zone.
Brattleboro-Putney, U.S. 5 Resurfacing – From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place. Mobile work zones will be present for the application of pavement markings. Traffic queues and delays are anticipated behind the equipment. Pavement markings are also scheduled to be applied from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning on all side roads. Single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers and uniformed traffic officers will be in place. Motorists should watch for wet paint.
Bridgewater, VT 100 Bridge Replacement – Drivers should expect daily lane closures with flaggers and short delays through the work zone.
Castleton-Fair Haven VT 4A Paving – Drivers should expect daily daytime lane closures with flaggers and short delays along Route 4A in Castleton. Shoulder closures may occur as needed. Both daytime and nighttime work may take place in Fair Haven throughout the week. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 16 Diverging Diamond Interchange – Sunday night, Monday night, and Thursday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., the I-89 Exit 16 North off-ramp will be closed for excavation, boxcutting, and paving. During the nightly closures, I-89 northbound traffic seeking to exit the interstate at Exit 16 will be detoured via Exit 17, U.S. 2 eastbound, and U.S. 2/7 southbound. The North off-ramp will be open during daytime hours throughout the week under gravel conditions. Tuesday through Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., lane closures and traffic shifts will be in effect at the U.S. 2/7 and Mountain View Drive intersection for conduit sleeve installation. Monday morning through Friday afternoon from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., U.S. 2/7 will have single-lane closures on either side between South Park Drive and Mountain View Drive for mast arm foundation, streetlight, sidewalk, and curb work. Motorists should expect significant delays and rough conditions. Please drive slowly, be alert, and consider alternate routes.
Colchester, I-89 Exit 17 Interchange Improvements – On Tuesday and Wednesday between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., lane width reductions and lane shifts will be in effect on the I-89 Exit 17 northbound and southbound off-ramps for wrong-way detection signage installation.
Colchester-Essex, VT 15 Paving – For this resurfacing project between the Colchester/Winooski town line and Susie Wilson Road on VT 15, motorists can expect slow two-way travel Sunday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Derby, U.S. 5 and Alt. U.S. 5 Paving – Single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for the application of permanent pavement markings. Motorists should watch for wet paint.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #90 Replacement – Crews continue working on the footing at the first abutment. Traffic on VT 12 near the North Branch Cascades Trail will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by a temporary signal outside of work hours. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Elmore, VT 12 Bridge #94 Replacement – A temporary bridge is now open to all traffic through the project area while crews continue bridge replacement work. Traffic on VT 12 near Camp Road will be one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Outside of work hours, both lanes will be open to traffic controlled by traffic signals. The speed limit has been reduced to 30 mph through the project area.
Georgia-Fairfax, VT 104A Paving – For this resurfacing project between the VT 104A/U.S. 7 intersection in Georgia extending 4.5 miles into Fairfax, Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., motorists can expect delays with traffic control present allowing for alternating one-lane of travel in multiple locations.
Milton, U.S. 7 Intersection Reconfiguration – Alternating one-way traffic will be in effect on US-7 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flaggers on-site to guide motorists.
Northfield, VT 12 Retaining Wall Replacement – The southbound lane of VT 12 near the intersection with Town Highway 54 is permanently closed for the construction season. Monday through Friday during work hours, flaggers will maintain alternating traffic patterns and facilitate trucks and equipment entering the work zone. A temporary traffic light will be active at all other times.
Norton, VT 114 Culvert Replacement – Crews will be constructing a diversion roadway. Expect alternating one-way traffic guided by flaggers or temporary signals. Motorists should use caution on gravel surface.
Pittsford, Bridge Replacement, US Route 7 – For this bridge replacement project, motorists can expect delays on US 7 with traffic control present to allow for alternating one-way travel Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the installation of pavement markings.
Plainfield, U.S. 2 Slope Remediation – Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., U.S. 2 just west of VT 214 will have single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers for slope work, including clearing and excavation.
Poultney, Town Highway/South Street Bridge Rehabilitation – Traffic remains shifted to the one-lane temporary bridge, which is open to truck traffic. Temporary signals direct vehicles through the site, with flaggers used as needed during construction operations and truck movements. Next week, crews will continue painting operations on the existing truss and begin production pile work at the south abutment.
Troy, VT 243 and VT 105 Paving – Single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pavement markings are scheduled and motorists should watch for wet paint.
Vershire, VT 113 Bridge #11 Replacement Project – The contractor will be mobilizing a crane and pile driving equipment to the site and may begin excavation of abutment 1, weather permitting. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic patterns through the work zone controlled by temporary traffic signals.
Williston, VT 2A and Industrial Ave Intersection Roadway Widening – Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., traffic on VT 2A between Mountain View Road and Hillside Drive will shift west, with cones marking lanes, as crews widen and reconstruct the east side. Single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers will be in effect between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; two-way traffic will be maintained outside those hours. Drivers should expect delays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and allow extra travel time or use alternate routes.
Wolcott, School Street Bridge Replacement – The bridge on School Street remains closed to all traffic with a signed detour in place as trucks bring the remaining truss pieces for assembly. Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., intermittent lane closures are expected on VT 15 and traffic at the intersection of VT 15 and School Street will be controlled by flaggers. An increase in truck traffic is expected; trucks will be using Flat Iron Road to access School Street to deliver bridge materials and cranes.
