BDCC to host regional leadership forum on Vermont’s fiscal future July 7

Vermont Business Magazine Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) will convene business, nonprofit, and municipal leaders from across the region for a special expanded CEO Roundtable event, Over the Horizon: State Revenue Pressures, Macro Risks & Regional Executive Strategy. The event will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the SIT International Center in Brattleboro.

The event will provide regional decision-makers with insight into Vermont’s evolving fiscal and policy landscape, helping organizations, businesses, and towns anticipate emerging challenges and prepare for long-term strategic planning. Featured speakers include Vermont State Treasurer Mike Pieciak and Andrew Brewer, Manager of Government and Public Affairs at Downs Rachlin Martin.

Brewer will provide a recap of the 2026 legislative session and discuss key policy developments that are expected to shape the upcoming biennium while Pieciak will offer a deeper look at Vermont’s fiscal outlook, including the structural factors driving state revenue demands and the implications for taxpayers, employers, nonprofits, and municipalities. 

In addition, the program will feature a spotlight on the Next Generation Brattleboro Initiative, by Town of Brattleboro, Town Manager, John Potter, highlighting local efforts to strengthen community vitality, economic resilience, and long term growth. There will also be a Q&A session with all the panelists. 

The event is open to business owners, nonprofit executive directors, municipal leaders, and other regional stakeholders interested in understanding the economic and policy trends affecting Vermont and the Windham region. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with fellow leaders during a networking session focused on collaborative regional strategies in addition to the panel.
