Training for entry level Advanced Manufacturing work scenarios must be immediate, consistent and intense but also allow for mistakes and learning in a supportive educational environment. Co-presented by VMEC and RVTC, the CNC Boot Camp model has been developed to provide such a workplace culture. Combining strong academic/ theoretical components with “high-touch” learning, attendees will experience the pressures of high precision/ high production manufacturing in a setting that is learner-centered rather than product-centered.

Critical Thinking and Risk Management in a Cyber-Converged World

In this highly valuable half day and complimentary session, participants will be exposed to complex analysis and decision making related to risk. They will explore the importance of critical thinking and apply it to combined cyber, physical, and informational problems while gaining an appreciation for standardized terminology and be familiar with methods of measuring risk.

This course introduces participants to Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR) and other models to aid in analysis. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize methods for formalized decision making processes
  • Utilize a common language taxonomy for risk management
  • Describe methods for calculating and measuring risk

This National Cybersecurity Preparedness Consortium (NCPC) training course is developed and delivered by Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI). NCPC courses are fully funded by DHS/FEMA and provided at no direct cost to participants. This survey course enables leaders to define and determine business risk related to cybersecurity in a multifaceted environment.
