CCN-RMHS is now accepting walk-ins for Adult, Substance Use Treatment and Recovery, and Child and Family Services
Vermont Business Magazine Community Care Network – Rutland Mental Health Services (CCN-RMHS) has announced expansion of its Open Access model, a service that allows individuals and families seeking support to walk in and receive same-day assessments without an appointment.
“We’re excited to now be able to offer Open Access for more of our services to the Rutland region and are optimistic about the positive impact that it will have on those in our area seeking mental health supports,” said Laura Kass, Chief Client Services Officer with CCN-RMHS. “It can often be difficult for people to take the initial step toward getting help, so it’s critical that we meet people in the exact moment when they are ready to receive it, and Open Access allows that to happen.”
While CCN-RMHS has been offering partial Open Access for outpatient Adult Mental Health and Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Services since 2023, the agency recently expanded the model to include Child and Family Mental Health Services, and increased accessibility from three days per week to five days per week.
The Open Access intake process, which eliminates wait-times for appointments, enables faster connection to services and is proven to improve client outcomes, includes the completion of opening paperwork, followed by initial assessment conducted by a CCN-RMHS clinician. Once the initial assessment is complete, the clinician then provides guidance to the individual or family around connecting with services that are most appropriate for them.
CCN-RMHS Open Access is available to anyone and can be utilized by walking into CCN-RMHS’ 78 South Main Street location in Rutland between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
For those using public transportation, CCN-RMHS’ 78 South Main Street location is situated closest to Marble Valley Regional Transit District (The Bus) stops at the junctions of
Killington Avenue and East Street, and Jackson Avenue and East Street.
Please note: Open Access is not available for CCN-RMHS Early Childhood Services, birth to age 5, at this time. However, Early Childhood Services continues to accept individuals and families through its traditional intake process. Please call 802-775-2381.
Additionally, individuals who are in distress or experiencing a mental health emergency should call or text 988 to reach CCN-RMHS Emergency Services.
