Vermont Business Magazine ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, announces a special exhibit unveiling ceremony celebrating Senator Patrick and Marcelle Leahy and their remarkable legacy of environmental stewardship and community connection. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 17, at 1:30 pm at ECHO.
The unveiling of a permanent sign at ECHO’s front doors marks a milestone moment for the organization and the broader Vermont community. The installation tells the story of two individuals whose vision, advocacy, and deep personal connection to Lake Champlain have left a lasting mark on the region, ensuring that generations of Vermonters can access, appreciate, and protect one of our great natural resources.
"Senator Patrick and Marcelle Leahy have shaped the story of Lake Champlain and Burlington for generations through their extraordinary leadership and love for this place," said Ted Lawson, ECHO's Executive Director. "Their belief that every Vermonter should have the opportunity to connect with the lake, with science, and with each other is woven into the very fabric of ECHO. We are deeply honored to celebrate their legacy with a permanent installation that will inspire future generations to care for Lake Champlain and the community that surrounds it."
The Leahys' enduring commitment to the Burlington waterfront has been instrumental in making ECHO a beloved destination and educational resource for families, students, and visitors from across the region.
